Dr. Stephen Wilson of Mercy Health – Forest Park Internal Medicine & Pediatrics discusses the dangers and risks of children’s exposure to lead paint.

Lead paint was used in houses built before 1978. As that paint deteriorates, lead dust is disseminated in the house and young children often put that dust into their mouth because it is very sweet.

Harmful effects stemming from the heavy metal include reduced intelligence, poor development and problem with cavities.

As a result, if your house or office was built before 1978, it is certainly possible that these dangers could become serious in your residence.
